Deuterium IX — Personal Information Protection Policy (English Translation)

English translation · This page is a translation of the Chinese original, provided for reference. It does not amend the original text. Read the Chinese original.

This Personal Information Protection Policy (the “Policy”) applies to the products and services provided by Deuterium IX and its associated applications, including the player community and companion App (collectively, the “Services”). In this Policy, “we” refers to the Deuterium IX operations team.

We take user privacy and information security seriously. This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, transmit and protect your personal information when you use the Services, and describes your rights and how to exercise them.

Please read this Policy carefully before using the Services, particularly the passages in bold. Where your consent is legally required for processing personal information, we will explain the processing and obtain your consent. Where separate consent is required, we will obtain it separately.

How we collect and use your personal information

We follow the principles of lawfulness, fairness, necessity and good faith, and process personal information only to the extent necessary for specific service purposes. If we need to use information for other purposes, we will explain this separately and obtain your consent or another lawful basis for processing as required by law.

1.1 Minecraft license and identity verification

Game sign-in follows Microsoft / Minecraft’s official authentication system. We process your Minecraft username, verified identity identifiers (including your UUID) and the information necessary to complete authentication, to confirm your license eligibility, identify your game identity and provide server services.

We will never ask you to provide your Microsoft account password to the operations team. Sign in through Microsoft’s official authorization process. Do not send passwords or sign-in credentials in tickets, chats or emails.

1.2 Deuterium ID registration and sign-in

When you register or sign in with a Deuterium ID used for the player community, companion App or other associated services, we process the QQ number you provide, relevant game identity, account authentication information and necessary verification records. This enables us to create your account, verify your identity, associate your community membership and contact you about account irregularities, service issues or disputes.

Where email verification or notifications are required, we process the relevant email address (including the QQ email address corresponding to your QQ number), verification codes and verification results.

1.3 Device, software and service operation information

To provide basic functions, support devices, diagnose problems, improve the Services and maintain security, we may process device model, name, type and version, operating system version, screen resolution, application identifier and version, network type, service settings, and necessary device or application instance identifiers, to the extent required for the particular function.

The “application information” above is limited to information directly related to the operation, compatibility or diagnosis of the Services. It does not mean indiscriminately collecting a list of every application installed on your device. Where device information or permissions require authorization, we will explain their purpose and follow the relevant platform’s authorization mechanism.

1.4 Operational logs and security records

We may process launcher logs, Minecraft game logs, associated application logs, operation and activity records, and necessary network connection and security records generated during your use of the Services or submitted by you. These are used for operational statistics, troubleshooting, customer complaints, detection of unusual behavior and service security analysis.

When submitting diagnostic logs, please avoid including passwords, access tokens or other sensitive material unrelated to the issue. We will also seek to minimize retention of unrelated information.

1.5 Credit spending and transaction records

Deuterium IX is a community service server with no paid top-up feature. When you spend the virtual game currency “Credits,” purchase virtual goods or participate in commissions through the player community or companion App, we process the relevant account, Credit spending records, order and transaction identifiers, order creation time, Credit transaction amounts, settlement status and delivery records.

This information is used to look up in-game transactions, settle Credits, deliver virtual goods, refund Credits and resolve disputes about goods or commissions. Credit transaction records relate to your virtual game assets. We apply strict access controls and process them only as required for the relevant service.

1.6 Customer service, complaints and dispute resolution

When you request assistance, explanations, complaint handling, appeals, after-sales support or dispute resolution, we may ask for your account, QQ number and other information necessary for your request, to verify your identity, protect your account and address the issue.

For transaction disputes, we retrieve or receive the transaction you select, counterparty and relevant account information, order and transaction snapshots, delivery records, communications and evidence you voluntarily submit, for review by authorized support or operations staff. We also retain necessary tickets, emails and other communications to follow up on the outcome.

1.7 Publishing information and content safety

When you use in-game information services or the chat, profile editing, product listing or other custom content features of the player community or companion App, we process the text, images and related records you submit to send, display, store and manage that content.

To maintain orderly operation of the Services, we may identify, filter or address inappropriate content such as pornography, violence, unlawful content, abuse or malicious advertising under applicable laws, regulations and community rules. Public posts, messages sent to other users and contact information needed to fulfill transactions are shown to the relevant users as necessary for the corresponding function.

1.8 Service notifications

We use the email address you provide and in-service notification channels to send service-related information, such as results of events you participate in, access application review status, account and transaction alerts, major system announcements and other necessary notices.

For non-essential notifications, you may adjust your preferences through the available notification settings, or request that we stop sending them using the contact details in this Policy.

1.9 AI conversations you choose to use

If you use AI conversation features in associated applications, your questions and the conversation context necessary to generate responses are processed and may be sent to the model service provider to produce replies. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information unrelated to your query or information about other people’s private lives.

1.10 Voluntary sponsorship and commemorative rewards

We accept voluntary sponsorship and may offer merchandise, commemorative in-game items or other rewards under published arrangements. To check sponsorship and reward requests you initiate, we may process the account or contact details you provide, sponsorship time and amount, related evidence and redemption records, to verify the request, contact you and fulfill confirmed reward arrangements. Voluntary sponsorship is not a paid top-up feature or a requirement for normal use of the Services.

If you choose to have physical merchandise shipped, we will explain the purpose and then process the necessary recipient name, delivery address and contact phone number, sharing them with the delivery provider only as needed for shipment. This information is used only to verify rewards, arrange delivery and resolve necessary related issues, not for unrelated marketing. Choosing not to receive physical rewards does not affect normal use of the game services.

How we share and otherwise process your personal information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, or provide it to third parties unrelated to delivering the Services.

We may use service providers to operate websites and applications, provide cloud storage, deliver email and ship merchandise you choose to receive. Where processing is entrusted to a provider, we supply only the information necessary for the service and require the provider to follow the agreed purposes, methods and security requirements, without using it for unrelated purposes.

Features you choose to use, such as Microsoft license authorization and AI conversations, may involve the relevant providers processing necessary information. Such processing must be limited to delivering the function you choose and does not mean you authorize any party to use your personal information without restriction.

If we need to provide personal information to an independent third party, transfer it or disclose it publicly, we will give the notices required by law and obtain your separate consent where required. Where laws or regulations provide otherwise, or a competent authority makes a lawful request, the relevant requirements apply.

How we store and protect your personal information

3.1 Storage location and retention periods

Personal information collected or generated in providing the Services and retained by us is stored within the People’s Republic of China. If it later becomes necessary to provide personal information outside China, we will follow the procedures required by applicable laws and regulations and obtain your separate consent where required.

Unless laws or regulations require otherwise, we retain personal information only for the shortest period necessary to achieve the processing purpose. For example, while you use account registration and sign-in functions, we need to retain your account-linked QQ number and necessary authentication information to maintain account functionality and security.

After account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information that is no longer needed, including the account-linked QQ number, as required by law. Necessary records retained for transaction verification, dispute resolution or legal requirements will be kept for limited purposes and periods, then deleted or anonymized when those periods expire.

3.2 Security safeguards

We take reasonable and practicable security measures to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, use, alteration, damage or loss of personal information. These include transmission encryption such as TLS, secure website access over HTTPS, data security management and internal access controls.

We limit operations and support staff access according to their duties and processing purposes, and require them to meet confidentiality and security obligations. If a personal information security incident occurs or may occur, we will respond appropriately and fulfill notification, reporting and other obligations required by law.

Your rights and how to exercise them

To the extent provided by applicable laws and regulations, you may request access to, copies of, correction, supplementation or deletion of personal information. You may also withdraw consent for consent-based processing, request account deletion, or ask us to explain this Policy and our processing rules.

You may use the account or profile functions available within the Services. If the relevant function does not support your request directly, or you need to change the QQ number linked to your account, contact the operations team at the email address below. We may verify identity information necessary for your request to prevent impersonation.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing based on consent before withdrawal. If you refuse to provide, or request deletion of, information essential to a particular function, we may no longer be able to provide that function; other functions that do not depend on that information remain unaffected. For information that cannot legally be deleted immediately, we will restrict processing and explain the situation.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Services or to laws and regulations, and will show the update and effective dates on this page. For changes that materially affect your rights or interests, we will notify you through page notices, announcements, email or other appropriate means.

If an update involves matters for which renewed consent is legally required, we will obtain your consent separately. Continued use of the Services will not replace the necessary consent procedure.
